Early Summer 2014

Its been a very busy few months at Muckers with a lots of summer events still to plan :)

The Summer began with a breakfast run to Sweet Tea Rooms where we enjoyed a run through the country lanes before refueling on a full english breakfast, toast or simply a few chips (clearly a very healthy lot!) Parked up in the carpark surrounded by cyclists and their bikes, we certainly added some colour and a gentle growl in the countryside.  A fabulous breakfast with lovely staff even if the weather was sadly a little grey.

Classics at Haselbury Mill, near Chard, Somerset was a fantastic day.  Organised as a charity event for Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) it involves cars of all makes and models.  It was also the debut for Boris, Olly's Yellow mini which finally got a taste of being on the road.  A firm favourite of the gang, we arranged a cake sale to help the charity and were please to be able to donate around £100 to the organisation.  We also put a few pounds on ourselves : /   www.classicsatthemill.co.uk/

The sunshine arrived in time for a beautiful summer wedding where our minis helped a local couple celebrate their day.  Even the ties came out for the occasion.  Looking sharp boys!!  We had a fantastic day and the couple involved were thrilled with the turn out.

A few further trips included London To Brighton, and a VERY wet day at Castle Combe race track for the Retro day.  Although soggy, everyone had a fab time at Combe and nearly all the cars returned in working order ;)  A better day arrived for Steve, Jackie and Pete at Weymouth seafront the following day.

So now its all ready to plan for Mini Action Day in September, local car shows including Sherborne Castle and Thornfalcon, many more breakfast meets and most importantly, planning the Christmas Party!!!

woo hoo we now have a blog page 😃

Welcome to Weston mini Muckers blog page.

The idea is to keep people informed with a monthly Newsletter informing all what we Muckers have been up to and future events.

We've had a great first year 2011 finishing of partying at the Holiday inn celebrating with the Christmas spirit. With too much spirit going round, say no more - HA!

January a few of us went to Bingley Hall mini show. A great weekend ! Paul and Alan had their moment of fame and Steve and Oli pop up in the background too.

Beginning of February we visited the Bath and West show.  Had a good jumble and some nice mini stands. My high light of the day was purchasing the most delicious homemade almond and cherry cake :)

In the new year we introduced a sunday breakfast run to Weston. Which up to now has been a great success. We've had a run to Bristol to meet up with the Bristol Mini Drifters and they joined us for a Sunday breakfast at the Helicopter Museum at Banwell .  Both clubs realised we are crazy as each other. And looking forward to some good weather where we can hit the beach with a rounders match and the loosing team fire up the BBQ.
Also a cake off will be organised at some point between the two clubs.

Silly mini Sunday was extremely cold! But it didn't stop us big kiddy Muckers having fun at Crealy. It was nice to see some of us dress up in the Western theme and get our pic in Mini Mag alongside Steve's clubman.

Sylv made the most delicious Easter biscuits and chocolate mini eggs..... That went down a treat. :)

Classic at the Mill was held Sunday 16th April at Hazelbury Mill in aid of MNDA.

Muckers were able to show there own support by all members baking cakes and selling them at the show. It was a great day! Sun was out and the cakes sold! We were able to donate £116 to the charity. The cake sale was a success. The girls all enjoyed it and looked fab in there burgundy tabards. Even Ronnie as he was our chef for the day.
Steve took his mini  kitchen trailer and it worked a treat!  The smell of bacon and sausages brought the crowds in. But was a let down for some when they realised they could only buy cakes.

We put up for the first time the clubs gazebos, money which was donated kindy by our members to buy them.

They looked fab in club colours! Everyone happy with their buy and looked stunning with the clubs bunting.

Clive Best and the rest of Somerset Classics were over the moon with our support.

We have been asked by Clive and his team to join them on a chip run and a skittles night sometime after Italy. Which we will look forward to in the near future.

Sunday 21st April - Myself, Steph, Dani, Suzy, Harri Ronnie and Donald Neate  from Bristol Mini Drifters marshalled at Sanders Garden World on behalf of Brimar vintage and classic car run and display for CHSW. Once again the weather stayed dry for us with a great turn out of classic cars.  Some real beauties and got chance to meet some very nice people. The public were very generous with emptying their pockets.

We all enjoyed our time of Marshalling. Don and I guided the cars from the entrance of the garden centre to where the cars were to stand proud in the display area. From one corner of the car park to another Don and I were able to communicate through showing our skills at charades. He he - I think we both need practice.

Suzy, Steph, Dani, Harri and Ronnie, guided and positioned the cars perfectly to show a fantastic display of cars.

Mary and Brian Curtis were both very much appreciative to all our hard work and sent us a couple of lovely emails. Shown below;

Hi Net and team
Thank you for your fantastic marshalling today.  Brian and I can't thank you enough.  You made it all go with a swing and helped so much. Thanks also to Don who also put himself out to help. You were totally professional even made a good job of the banners stengthening the corners.  All in all we are extremely grateful.  We will see you at the Retro run if not before!!
Kind regards
M & B

Hi Net and team
Glad to report with the help from you all we have raised to date with pledges £5925.01. for CHSW. We are over the moon- couldn’t have done it without your help! So thanks again
Mary and Brian

And finally for the time being,

It's ten days until we start our mini adventure to Italy IMM Mugello race track in Florene.
The boys are working hard to get the minis ready. Lots of welding and bruised knuckles and late nights. Hopefully all will be fit for the road.  - six minis, one trailer, 12 adults and one little man ( Rhiley) .

Gemma will be flying and meeting us there.

Paul's mini has been off the road for two years - but has been well worth it! Jenny looks a black beauty! And ready for the IMM!!! Say it how Paul says it..... HAPPY DAYS!!!  :)
